Abigail's Party

Abigail's Party is a West End theatre play at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London. Mike Leigh's 1977 black comedy of suburban manners returns to the stage with Tamzin Outhwaite in the lead role of Beverly, the overbearing hostess whose dinner party slowly unravels over one excruciating evening in an Essex semi-detached. The play originally aired as a BBC television production before becoming one of the most performed works in British theatre.

The production follows Beverly as she presides over an evening of warm white wine, Demis Roussos on the record player, and cheese and pineapple cocktail sticks, while her guests endure mounting social tension beneath a veneer of pleasantries.
